Puerto del Carmen supplies the largest concentration of restaurants and nightlife; Playa Blanca offers marina areas and views towards Fuerteventura; Costa Teguise has a more compact resort plan. César Manrique sites, volcanic landscapes and Timanfaya are central to island sightseeing, with access varying by venue and excursion vehicle.
Who might enjoy Lanzarote
No single resort is universally best. Puerto del Carmen’s coastal avenue includes gradients, Playa Blanca is spread along a lengthy waterfront and Costa Teguise has mixed surfaces. Wind and sun exposure also affect comfort and realistic scooter range.
A good holiday depends on the relationship between the traveller, the exact accommodation and the routes they intend to use. Our guidance avoids describing an entire destination as simply “accessible”.

Terrain and getting around
Puerto del Carmen includes long coastal sections but also sloping side roads. Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca have mixed paving, ramps and occasional interruptions.
Accessibility is personal: distance, gradient, surface, heat and crowding affect travellers differently. Trace the complete route from the accommodation to the places that matter, including the return journey.
Choosing where to stay
Choose the exact resort zone and verify the route to restaurants and the waterfront. Large complexes can have internal gradients even when external streets look level.
Ask for the narrowest doorway, lift dimensions, bathroom transfer space, bed height and a step-free route to every hotel facility that will be used. Obtain important commitments in writing.
Airport transfers and local transport
Nearest airport: Lanzarote Airport. Airport transfers are short to several main resorts. Specify all equipment and luggage because standard vehicles may have limited boot capacity.
Tell the transfer company whether the traveller can move into a vehicle seat or must remain in the wheelchair. Provide chair or scooter dimensions, combined weight, companion numbers and luggage details.
