Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a spacious southern resort with beaches, a working harbour, Marina Rubicón and a long waterfront route. It generally offers a quieter atmosphere than Puerto del Carmen and is popular with couples and families.

What is there to see and do?

The town beach, marina market, seafront restaurants and views towards Fuerteventura shape the holiday. Ferries and boat trips operate from the harbour, but boarding and island transport should be confirmed beforehand.

A useful accessible itinerary leaves space for unplanned café stops and rest periods rather than treating every attraction as compulsory. Opening times, accessible entrances, toilets, companion arrangements and mobility-aid policies should be confirmed with the attraction shortly before visiting.

Terrain and getting around

Many coastal sections are manageable, although the resort’s length, paving changes and hotel access slopes matter. Strong sun and wind can make exposed routes tiring.

Trace both directions of every important journey. A gentle downhill trip to a beach can become a demanding return, while heat, wind, crowds and battery condition can materially reduce comfortable range.

Best areas to stay

Central accommodation is convenient for restaurants; marina and outer hotels offer a more self-contained stay. Check actual route distance rather than straight-line distance.

Ask for the precise building and accessible entrance, then check the route to reception, the room, restaurant, pool and public street. Request doorway, lift and bathroom measurements rather than accepting a general accessibility label.

Airport transfers and local transport

Nearest airport: Lanzarote Airport. The airport road transfer is longer than to Puerto del Carmen. Adapted vehicles and equipment delivery slots should be booked in advance.

Tell the operator whether the traveller transfers into a vehicle seat or remains in their wheelchair. Provide equipment dimensions and weight together with passenger and luggage numbers.

Arrange the model around user weight, posture, intended distance, gradients and the accommodation.
