Port d’Alcúdia is a large, family-focused resort around a marina, a long sandy bay and an extensive ribbon of hotels and apartments. It is often practical with hired mobility equipment, although the resort is long enough for distance to matter as much as gradient.

Local distinction

This guide covers Port d’Alcúdia specifically. Nearby towns and coastal resorts have separate Mobility Abroad pages because their terrain, distances and delivery arrangements are different.

What is there to see and do?

The marina, waterfront restaurants and beach are the natural centre. The holiday area continues south along the bay through hotel and apartment districts, while Alcúdia old town is a separate outing with different surfaces.

Terrain and getting around

Much of the waterfront is comparatively level, but paving quality, road crossings and dropped kerbs vary. A hotel described simply as “Alcúdia” may be several kilometres from the marina, so trace the actual route rather than judging from the resort name.

Check important routes in both directions and allow for heat, crowds, temporary street furniture and the reduction in usable battery range caused by gradients or long days.

Where to stay

Central port accommodation places the marina and restaurants close together. Beach-strip properties can offer easy sand proximity but much longer journeys to the port; check which entrance reaches the public pavement without steps.

Request measurements and current photographs of the entrance, lift, bedroom, bathroom, pool route and public pavement. A general “accessible room” label is not enough.

Airport transfers

The airport road transfer is longer than to Palma or the southwest resorts. Tell the transfer company about every wheelchair or scooter and confirm whether the passenger transfers to a vehicle seat.

Mobility equipment hire in Port d’Alcúdia

A medium pavement scooter can provide useful range along the bay, subject to lift and storage dimensions. A portable model may be easier indoors but should not be chosen without checking realistic range and comfort.

Use the hotel’s full name, map pin and reception hours. Similar property names and a long resort strip can otherwise cause delivery confusion.

Before confirming the holiday

  • Pin the exact accommodation and usable entrance.
  • Match equipment to the user, route, gradients and storage.
  • Confirm delivery, collection and breakdown response in writing.
  • Recheck seasonal beach and attraction access shortly before travel.
