Calpe is a substantial resort built around two long beaches and the dramatic Peñón de Ifach. It combines apartment tourism, a fishing harbour and year-round local services, with accommodation distributed around several coastal districts.

What is there to see and do?

The promenades, marina, fish restaurants, salt lake and views of the rock create varied days. The natural park and steep summit route are not representative of the more accessible waterfront.

A useful accessible itinerary leaves space for unplanned café stops and rest periods rather than treating every attraction as compulsory. Opening times, accessible entrances, toilets, companion arrangements and mobility-aid policies should be confirmed with the attraction shortly before visiting.

Terrain and getting around

Beachfront promenades are easiest, while routes around the rock, old town and inland streets vary. Distances between the two main bays are meaningful.

Trace both directions of every important journey. A gentle downhill trip to a beach can become a demanding return, while heat, wind, crowds and battery condition can materially reduce comfortable range.

Best areas to stay

Select the preferred beach before the hotel and check supermarket and restaurant proximity. Sea-view towers need adequate lift dimensions.

Ask for the precise building and accessible entrance, then check the route to reception, the room, restaurant, pool and public street. Request doorway, lift and bathroom measurements rather than accepting a general accessibility label.

Airport transfers and local transport

Nearest airport: Alicante Airport. The road transfer from Alicante is longer than to Benidorm. Confirm direct delivery and repair coverage for hired equipment.

Tell the operator whether the traveller transfers into a vehicle seat or remains in their wheelchair. Provide equipment dimensions and weight together with passenger and luggage numbers.
