Terrain and getting around

Ibiza Town waterfront and newer areas are easier than the steep, cobbled Dalt Vila. Resort promenades vary in width, surface and continuity.

Accessibility is personal: distance, gradient, surface, heat and crowding affect travellers differently. Trace the complete route from the accommodation to the places that matter, including the return journey.

Choosing where to stay

Playa d’en Bossa offers a long, lively strip; Santa Eulària is a calmer base with a promenade. Check hotel routes and nightlife noise as well as physical access.

Ask for the narrowest doorway, lift dimensions, bathroom transfer space, bed height and a step-free route to every hotel facility that will be used. Obtain important commitments in writing.

Airport transfers and local transport

Nearest airport: Ibiza Airport. Airport transfers are relatively short to the main southern resorts but suitable wheelchair-accessible vehicles can be limited at busy times.

Tell the transfer company whether the traveller can move into a vehicle seat or must remain in the wheelchair. Provide chair or scooter dimensions, combined weight, companion numbers and luggage details.
