A coastal base east of Málaga
Torrox Costa suits a holiday built around the sea, restaurant terraces and an unhurried daily routine. It is part of the municipality of Torrox, but the coastal accommodation and the historic inland village provide different experiences. The lighthouse area and nearby Roman remains give the coast an interest beyond the beach. Spain’s tourism information also highlights the white houses, narrow streets and historic church of the old town; these should be planned as a separate outing rather than assumed to be beside a coastal apartment.
Choose the exact coastal neighbourhood
Look for the location you want to use every day, then compare the entrance of each property with that point. A description such as “Torrox” can cover accommodation away from the seafront. Ask for the street entrance, not just a map pin in the middle of the development. An apartment above shops may have a different entrance at the rear; check lift access from that entrance and whether the route remains available at night.
Beach days and equipment
Separate enjoying the waterfront from reaching the sand or water. Ask the local tourist office about the access point nearest your accommodation and the dates when any assistance operates. A beach photograph does not show the gradient or end of a boardwalk. Plan a short first outing with the hired scooter, checking the return journey and charging arrangements before extending the distance. For a visit to the inland village, arrange transport to a suitable drop-off point and ask which streets can be reached without steps.
Arrival and shopping
Give your transfer driver and equipment supplier the same entrance description. For self-catering, check the route to a food shop and whether groceries can be delivered to the apartment door. A balcony or sea view is a pleasant extra; a workable lift, bathroom and everyday shopping route are the essentials.
